So, what is the CoffeeShop Blog all about?

Hi! My name is Rita and I am the blogger behind CoffeeShop. If you are visiting for the first time, welcome! My blog is all about photography and photo-editing, especially in Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, and LightRoom. And pretty much everything you find here is created by me and completely free.

My main "claim to fame" are all of the free actions I have designed. An action is just series of programmed steps you commonly use in editing to get a certain "look" or effect. For example, you can use an action to create a soft vanilla B&W, a bright color pop, create and load a storyboard, or even retouch a portrait. My actions are special in that almost all of them run in Photoshop Elements, an amazing editing program most people can afford to buy (unlike its big sister Photoshop). And most of my actions are completely adjustable so you can get your own unique look.

CoffeeShop has plenty of other free goodies. I create custom storyboards, textures, brushes, patterns, cards, etc. and post them here. I also write all types of tutorials covering photography, photo-editing, and Blogger blog design. I am a stay-at-home mom to two little boys, so this is my creative outlet!

Grab a drink (we prefer coffee in my house!), pull up a chair, and browse the CoffeeShop. All downloads on this site are free for both personal and commercial use (just don't resell my stuff as your own, please keep it free). To find things use my top menubar, the search under my header, or check out the label cloud on my right sidebar. And please enjoy yourself! Rita

More amazing free textures from SkeletalMess.

>> Wednesday, November 11

You have probably heard me mention the incredible free textures of SkeletalMess (formerly Ghostbones) from Flickr a few times. Ok, many times. I have been following his photostream for years (when I first became a member on Flickr) and I am in awe of his artistry and generosity. He is one of my Flickr "crushes". ;-)

Well today I was looking at the new images on his stream and found his Shadowhouse Creations site with this amazing free set of textures. Click on the image below to go to his post.

Oh, I love this texture. I need to find some time to play with all of these.

If you are new to using textures in Photoshop and Photoshop Elements, check out my many texture tutorials.

Oh I know - isn't this person's textures amazing?! Love his work! Thanks for giving a shoutout to one of my favorite "textureizers" - love this site! :)

Thanks Rita....I'm just beginning to get my feet wet with textures... his textures, combined with your Give It Texture action will definitely help! Appreciate both your actions and this link!

I've been having so much fun poring through this wonderful site...patterns, textures, brushes...oh my!

I hope you can help me though. I've messed up the way my patterns display in PSE. It used to be that I would go to add a pattern, and a giant display of every pattern I have would show at one time. Now they're all sorted into categories and I have to click through the categories to find what I'm looking for instead of having everything just out for me to see.

Am I making sense?

Sorry to bother you with this. I just can't figure out what I did to make this irritating change, and you're my "go to" gal when it comes to this kind of stuff :-)

Please help!

I really love the faded bokeh - that is SO cool! Can't wait to use it on something (ANYTHING!).

This is SO off topic, but is there info somewhere on your blog on how to install actions on PSE8? I have all of your actions that were used in PSE6 and as I understand the process is different in 8. Apparently the action installer won't let you access actions in Full Edit:/ Thanks!

Nevermind! I followed the link for installing and followed the instructions for PSE7. You rock!
